The multi-purpose knitted hood not only warms the ears but also the neck and nape.

Sammalia knitted hood is the winner of the Ikimetsä knitting competition and an absolute crowd favorite.

The hood is a light fluffy and warm headgear that, when lowered, acts as a collar. It also fits under the hood of a jacket or, for example, a bicycle helmet.

The hood finished with rolled edges is knitted seamlessly first in the round, then flat and finally from the top of the sock to the heel of the sock using a familiar technique. With the same instructions, you can knit a hood for yourself and your child.

Bonus! Knitting pattern also for Sammalia panna. You can use the entire skein by knitting a plush collar from the remaining yarn. You can use it alone or under the Sammalia hood, where it provides additional warmth and windproofness in colder weather. Domestic alpaca/angora rabbit yarn for soft knitwear.

High-quality alpaca/angora yarn brings luxury and fluffiness to your sweaters.

Our Angora/Alpakka artisan yarn is spun in a small Finnish spinning mill. They are made by spinning together 50% angora fiber and about 50% alpaca fiber. Each batch of yarn is unique, you won't find a similar yarn anywhere else.

The yarn spun from the hair of domestic angora rabbits is soft and slightly fluffy. Like all our alpaca fibers, rabbit hair is undyed and we do not treat the finished yarn with chemicals at all. In this way, the yarn and thus the finished product retain the fiber's typical properties, such as softness, fluffiness and heat insulation.

Use this yarn to knit luxuriously soft accessories and blouses. The yarn is best knitted loosely with 4−4.5 mm needles. 3−3.5 mm needles are recommended for gloves and other wearable accessories.

Our Angora/Alpaca yarn is suitable for e.g. For the yarn of the Kaunotar cardigan.

Are you looking for a slightly more challenging knitting project, the end result of which charms with its beauty?

Beauty is your choice then. Kaunottare has two absolutely wonderful cardigan models in the same instructions.

Kaunotattare was designed by Piia Maria Pekkanen. The yarns in the instructions use domestic, ethical and untreated artisanal yarns from Ruukki Kehräämö.

Beauty 1 is knitted from delicate and soft angora yarn (brown in the picture). Its neckline is open and the length is designed to fall on the hips. Beauty 2 is waist-length and has a high polo collar added (white in the picture). Beauty 2 is knitted from 100% alpaca yarn.

In both Kaunottari, the basic knitting technique is the same, and skillful knitters can combine models to create a whole of their own. Remember to reserve enough yarn for the sweater, because the yarn lots are unique and therefore it may not be possible to find yarn of exactly the same shade later.

• Angora/Alpaca yarn (320-400 m /100 g) or
• Angora/Wild silk yarn (200-230 m /50 g)

The Vuono sweater is designed to be used for life's adventures!

This easy instruction is also suitable for beginners.

A wonderfully warm unisex sweater is suitable for both men and women. The blouse has a trendy zipper collar, under which the collared shirt also looks stylish. If you love polo shirts, leave out the zipper. Both implementation methods are taken into account in the instructions.

The Vuono sweater is knitted from DK-strength 3-strand alpaca yarn with 5 mm needles. The blouse has rounded raglan sleeves with a short saddle on the shoulder. This makes the blouse a particularly good fit even for men with shoulders. The hem and sleeves of the Vuono sweater are knitted in the round up to the arms. In Kaorokke, the pieces are combined. Starting from the zipper slit, the upper part is knitted flat.

Tip: You can get a fluffier version of the sweater by choosing Suri alpaca yarn instead of 3-strand alpaca yarn.

Soft and high-quality alpaca yarn for your new favorite sweater.

You knit the most comfortable knitwear for yourself or as a gift from unique, luxury-quality alpaca yarn.

Our 3-strand alpaca yarn is made of 100% undyed alpaca wool. The yarn is one of the strongest DK and it is at its best when knitted loosely with 5 mm needles.

Each yarn has a unique color combination of wool from different colored alpacas. All shades are genuine animal colors.

The yarn is spun in a small Finnish spinning mill, where the fibers are mixed during the spinning process. The end result of creative work is colors and color gradients that can only be found in handcrafted artisan yarns.

Please note that even if the yarn has the same name as before, each batch of yarn is unique and it can be challenging to find a yarn of exactly the same shade later. So reserve enough yarn for the sweater you are planning. You can always return the extra skein. If necessary, we also help in evaluating the need for yarn.

Hobo vest for women and men.

When a teenage boy asks his mother to knit a slipover, the signs are clear. This all-time classic has made a comeback. Cardigans are in fashion again! The stroller was designed by Ateljee Piia Maria in collaboration with Ruukki Kehräämö.

The hobo is a nice little knitting project that can be completed in a few evenings. Instead, you will enjoy the warmth of the vest for an evening, if only for another. This multi-purpose garment will certainly not stay in the closet to gather dust, but will go on Kulkur's journey towards new adventures.

The hobo vest is knitted with circular needles up to the arms. In the upper part, the front and back pieces are knitted separately as a layer. The vest can also be knitted as a two-color brioche, as in the boy's slipover. Both implementation methods are taken into account in the instructions.

The instructions have 5 sizes (XS-XL). The smallest size XS corresponds to a woman's size 34 and is also suitable for a child about 150 cm tall.

The long and comfortable Naava cardigan is knitted with two yarns.

Naava is a classic and timeless cardigan. The raglan-sleeved basic jacket will be enough fun for years to come. Naava's model is uncomplicated and relaxed, but because of its luxurious material it is nevertheless very special. Descriptively, the jacket was named Naava. It's like the quiet peace of our disappearing primeval forests. A little rough and shaggy, but so very precious in all his everyday life.

The narrow and straight hem of the Naava jacket is knitted in one piece up to the arms. Pockets that are subsequently embedded are knitted into the hem. The sleeves are knitted with double pointed needles or a long circular needle, looping. Finally, at the top, the pieces are connected.

The jacket is knitted from sweetly soft and fluffy Suri alpaca yarn together with thin single-strand Alpaca/Wild silk. With combinations of different colors, you can create a wonderfully mottled knitted surface according to your own taste. The jacket is finished with lovely wooden buttons.

Sizes: XS-SML-XL

Materials:

• Ruukkin Kehräämö Suri-Alpakka 400 m / 100 g and
• Ruukkin Kehräämö single strand Alpaca/Wild silk 420-600 m / 100 g.

Please note that the strength of Alpaca/Wild silk varies slightly from color to color. That's why the skeins of some colors have more yarn per meter than other colors. From the point of view of the instructions and knitting, this is irrelevant. The yarn flow is defined so that there is enough yarn in all colors. From the thinnest threads, depending on the type of handwork, one skein may be left over. Full and unopened skeins can be returned.

Needles: 5 mm and 4.5 mm circular needles, length 80 cm and double pointed needles 5 mm and 4.5 mm.
Density: 16 sts = 10 cm stockinette stitch on thicker needles, knitted together with both yarns.
Other accessories: 7 buttons and loop markers.

Garment dimensions:
Full length in the middle of the back 91-94-95-96-98 cm.
Body and hem circumference when the jacket is closed 98-106-114-122-130 cm.
Inner sleeve length 48-49-49-50-51 cm.

Note! The measurements are the measurements of the finished garment after wetting/wetting. Getting wet stretches the overall length of the coat by 5-7 cm. Elongation is taken into account in the dimensions of the formula.

Choose a size that is 10-20 cm bigger than your own chest circumference. The model pieces in the pictures are knitted in size S and the model size is 36. Size XS is suitable for a teenage child and corresponds to sizes 152-164 cm.

The warm and soft Taiga collar is made from two threads.

The Taiga collar was originally designed for Valentine's Day. In it, two different threads intertwine, forming a strong, but delicate whole. Taiga is a great gift idea!

Soft and airy Taiga is pleasant to knit. The finished product is pleasing to the eye as well as the cheek. The collar was designed by Ateljee Piia Maria in collaboration with Ruukki Kehräämö. Taiga in the pictures is made of two different shades of 100% alpaca/wild silk/angora rabbit yarn.

The Taiga collar is knitted with a brioche knit, where two threads of different colors intertwine and mix the colors optically. The right and wrong sides of the work are slightly different colors. The shape of the collar is asymmetrical and there is a stylish split on one side of the collar.

Materials:

• Ruukkin Kehräämö alpaca/wild silk/angora rabbit thread or
• Ruukkin Kehräämö angora/wild silk yarn or
• Ruukkin Kehräämö alpaca/wild silk yarn or
• Ruukkin Kehräämö's Suri alpaca yarn

Thread flow:

• Two yarns of different colors, both about 50 g.
• Note that the threads do not have to be of the same material or even exactly the same strength.

Sticks:

• 3 mm circular needles

Collar dimensions:

• The circumference of the collar at the top edge is 52 cm
• Length 28 cm
• If you wish, you can knit a cape-sized piece (35 cm) from the collar
